Nueces County DAO Visits Glossbrenner SAFPF Unit:

--

DA Mark Gonzalez, Chief of Training Jenny Dorsey, ADA Holt Feemster, and First Assistant Matthew Manning had the opportunity to visit and tour the Ernestine Glossbrenner SAFPF (Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility) Unit in San Diego.

Warden Ronnie Perez, Program Director Mark Hernandez, Security Director Tavarez, Regional Director Juan Nunez, and their staff were all incredibly hospitable and welcoming. They walked us around the entire facility — food service, education, recreational areas, intake, library, et. al — and even gave us goody bags with commissary items!

The breadth of their treatment program was very impressive, with them addressing the psychological, physiological, and sociological challenges facing offenders both in treatment and as they reintegrate into society. They house and treat probationers, parolees, and those soon to be released.
They were highly pleased we made the trek and visited, as were we to have the opportunity to do so, remarking that they wish more prosecutors came to visit their grounds.

It is imperative that we as prosecutors understand and see the human impact of the decisions we make every day, ensuring the light of our quest for justice never dims.
