Grand Jury: A Grand Jury is a group of twelve people who are presented evidence by a prosecutor to determine if charges should be brought against an individual. If the Grand Jury is convinced that there is probable cause to charge the accused, they will then hand down an indictment against the individual. The grand jury votes in complete secrecy. Attorney’s for the state present cases but are not present during the deliberations.
